Biography Dr. Habbab received his postgraduate training in Medicine (1981–1984) and Cardiology (1984–1986) in the United States of America. Following which he became certified in American Board in Internal Medicine and American Board in Cardiovascular Disease. He joined the Department of Adult Cardiology in Prince Sultan Cardiac Center (PSCC) in July 1986. He also received further training in electrophysiology and pacing at the State University of New York (1988-1989). Currently, he holds the post of Senior Consultant Cardiologist and Head of Adult Cardiology Department at PSCC in addition the posts of Consultant In-Charge of Electrophysiology and Pacing Division and Director of Life Support Education. He remains an active member of many international and professional associations as he is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), Fellow of the American College of Angiology (FACA) and Fellow of the American Federation for Clinical Research. He is the President of the Saudi Group for P acing and Electrophysiology (SGPE) and the current President of the Middle East – North African Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (MENASPE). He is also an active member of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology, American Heart Association, Saudi Heart Association, and American Academy of Science. He continues to be involved in clinical research that resulted in numerous numbers of publications, in international and local journals as well as chapters in textbooks, and presentations at many international and local meetings. He also attended and participated in numerous international symposia held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as in the United States of America, Europe and the Middle East. He is also involved in postgraduate teaching and training of medical residents and fellows in Cardiology and holds the post of Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program at PSCC, member of the Cardiology Fellowship Training Committee at the Saudi Council for Health Specialties and Chairman of the Examination Committee for the Saudi Board in Cardiology. Also, he is an examiner for the Arab Board in Cardiology Certification conducted by King Saud University. Dr. Habbab is also involved in Life Support Education since 1986 and is recognized as Instructor’s Trainer by the Saudi Heart Association (an affiliate of the American Heart Association). As a Director of PSCC’s Life Support Education, he continues to organize and provide regular training in life support education (Basic Life Support, Advance Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Life Support and Heath Care Provider Courses). |
